Royal Deeside Railway Preservation Society re-opens a short portion of the line from Milton of Crathes.

Old Meldrum station dismantling by the Royal Deeside Railway Preservation Society begins. Work continued in April 2012. The building was re-located to Milton of Crathes.

The name Doon Valley Railway is selected by the Ayrshire Railway Preservation Society for the preserved portion of line at Waterside.
