Alloa Railway

Introduction

This line is closed. It had a bridge over the River Forth, often referred to as the Other Forth Railway Bridge. The bridge had a central span which was turned by a steam engine to allow shipping to pass. The bridge is now demolished although the piers remain in place. Today the nearest stations are at Stirling and Larbert.
