Description

This was a two platform station with a passing loop. The station building still survives on the eastbound platform.

The passenger station was separated from the goods station by a level crossing to its west. The goods station was west of the level crossing. There was a siding on the north side, approached from the east, which served a loading bank.

Signal boxes opened in 1894. The west box was on the south side of the line and on the east side of the road at the level crossing. The east box was at the east end of the westbound platform.

The Monandavan Diatomite Works were to the north, served by a road running north from the station. There may have been a narrow gauge line between the two, certainly there was a line within the works.

The original station had one platform, the later eastbound platform, and a siding to the west, approached from the east.

The east box closed in 1928, replaced by the west box.

The station closed to passengers in February 1966. The box was reduced to a ground frame. The line closed completely in July 1966.

The station building is now in use as an estate office. It presents a single storey to the platform and two storeys to the north. Dinnet and Kinord Estate
