The Lancaster to Carlisle railway was opened in 1846 forming a key part of the West Coast Mainline. Photographic displays are being held at stations on the line organised by Cumbrian Railways Association, Avanti West Coast, Network Rail and the Cumbria Community Rail Partnership.

Lancaster: 90042 leads reliveried 90048 through Lancaster with an evening Coatbridge to Basford Hall intermodal service on 27th July 2021. 195112 is in Platform 3 bound for Barrow-in-Furness.

Carlisle: 66305 is on the rear of a short engineers train in Citadel station. This was 1Z99, hauled by 68017 on 1st October 2019.

Oxenholme: Stanier Black 5 4-6-0 no 45377 off Bolton shed speeds through Oxenholme station with a northbound express in the 1960s.
