Trains in the north and north-east of Scotland are facing significant disruption due to the adverse weather conditions, with a section of track in Aberdeenshire found to be flooded and an Inverness to London train cancelled.

A forecast of high winds and heavy rain in parts of Scotland today has prompted an Amber weather warning from the Met Office. In response to this, Scotlands Railway will put in place a blanket 40mph speed restrictions covering the affected routes from 16:00 today. We'll also implement a controlled shut-down of the network in these areas from approximately 19:00 tonight.
