Some trains into Edinburgh from Aberdeen will be diverted via Stirling, causing delays. Some Glasgow trains will be scrapped. ScotRail, LNER and CrossCountry are hit.

The service will stop so engineering works can go ahead. It means Rutherglen, Dalmarnock, Bridgeton, Glasgow Central Low Level and Exhibition Centre stations will be served by a limited replacement bus service instead.

Rutherglen: A Whifflet service calls at Rutherglen on 19 May. I've never quite got used to the M74 appearing above the station some years ago, but it has to be said there is surprisingly little traffic noise.

A campaign to help passengers plan their journeys during an eight-week rail closure launched this week. Major improvement works on the track, tunnels and overhead line equipment between Rutherglen and the Exhibition Centre will take place from 13 March until 8 May 2022, with the line closing and no services running during that time. Many services which would normally operate via Glasgow Central Low Level will be diverted into Glasgow Central High Level or Glasgow Queen Street Low Level.
