Residents across the North of England have responded to an appeal by Northern to help them correct the mispronunciation of local stations names in on-board announcements.

Aspatria: Aspatria station, seen on a sunny 9th March 2018 looking towards Carlisle. The station building is in private use and this is a request stop nowadays.

Rail services are operating again on the Lakes Line following a minor landslip in the Burneside area earlier this morning.

All rail services between Oxenholme and Windermere were suspended for several hours, but the line has now fully re-opened and trains are running - although some delays can be expected until further notice.
