A blossoming heritage railway in Northumberland has launched a £ 1.88m fundraising drive to allow it to reach its destination.
The Aln Valley Railway provided a link between Alnwick and Alnmouth up until 1968.
For almost 20 years, volunteers worked towards the reopening of the railway.
In October last year, their blossoming project was officially opened by its patron the Duke of Northumberland.
Now, railway bosses have launched the Let's Get to Alnmouth appeal, which aims to raise the money needed to allow track to be laid all the way to the village's mainline station.

More than 1,000 people visited a major heritage railway development over the Easter weekend, as the attraction hosted its first train rides.
Visitors to the Aln Valley Railway (AVR) were treated to short trips at the Alnwick site, with an engineer's track inspection vehicle taking passengers on a half-mile round journey.
The milestone was an historic moment for the AVR, which is aiming to reopen the majority of the branchline from Alnmouth to the town.
It was also the first time that trains carrying passengers have run in Alnwick since the 1960s

The first length of track has been laid on an ambitious heritage railway development.

And a delighted representative from the Aln Valley Railway scheme has told the Gazette: 'It is something that we have been looking forward to for a very long time.'

Dreams of reopening the branch-line from Alnmouth to Alnwick reached an important milestone earlier this year when a lease was signed between the Aln Valley Railway Trust and Northumberland Estates.

Since then, it has been full steam ahead with the project.

Work on a major historic railway scheme is on the right track, with hopes that the first phase will be completed in July.

The Aln Valley Railway (AVR) project aims to rebuild the Alnmouth to Alnwick branchline.

It is now full steam ahead after a lease was signed between Northumberland Estates and the Aln Valley Railway Society earlier this year.
