10/09/2021 Cracks under train carriages could have been caused by seawater spraying onto them, report suggests [Daily Mail] An investigation said a type of aluminium used under some of the trains may have been vulnerable to being damaged by 'salt-containing' substances. 09/09/2021 ORR publishes interim report on Hitachi train cracks [ORR] The Office of Rail and Road (ORR) today reports in its interim review that Hitachis Class 800 and 385 series trains were affected by stress corrosion and fatigue cracks.
