Wishaw, Cambusnethan and Coltness Line (Caledonian Railway)

Introduction

This was a short lived line, except for a section between Shieldmuir and Wishaw which is still in use today for local trains. The main portion from Wishaw to Coltness was closed not long after opening.

This is the junction where the single track to Wishaw leaves the main line south east of Motherwell station. The main line is double track, the connecting line is single track.

This junction is to the north east of Wishaw station. It is where a short connecting line from Shieldmuir North Junction meets the line coming south from Holytown Junction and allows a local passenger train going south from Motherwell to serve Wishaw station.

This was a short lived island platform station on a double track line. The station building had glazed canopies. The line was on a curve. Access to the station was from Moss Road, leading to a subway to the west end of the platform.
