Description

This is a proposed new station on the Neilston line (former Lanarkshire and Ayrshire Railway). The site is near Balgraystone Road alongside Balgray Reservoir, on the south side of Barrhead immediately west of the former Lyoncross Junction and east of the former Netherton Goods. It would be located between Patterton and Neilston stations.

Proposed names for the station have been Auchenback, Barrhead South and Balgray.

The station was first suggested as part of the Glasgow City Region Deal.

The opening year of 2021 was originally suggested.
