Name and dates

Fauldhouse Goods (1869-1962)

Opened on the Cleland and Midcalder Line (Caledonian Railway).

Description

This goods yard was east of Fauldhouse station. The goods yard was on the north side of the line and approached from the east. The yard consisted of sidings and a loading bank.

It was served by its own signal box which was separate to that at the passenger station. This was located on the north side of the line at the point of divergence of the sidings. It was replaced, in 1912, with another box at the west end of the yard, south of the sidings, by the Cemetery Road overbridge. (By this time the Fauldhouse station signal box had closed.)

The box closed in 1962. The site of the goods yard has been landscaped.

Just to the north was the Benhar Branch (North British Railway), a branch of the former Wilsontown, Morningside and Coltness Railway.
