Fauldhouse No 1 Colliery

Description

This colliery was served by both the Wilsontown, Morningside and Coltness Railway, from a junction close to Wellhill Cistern, and the Cleland and Midcalder Line (Caledonian Railway) from a junction between Fauldhouse station and Fauldhouse Goods. The colliery was on the north side of the first line and south of the second, the connections forming a connection between those lines running through the colliery. It was owned by Barr & Thornton Ltd and closed in April 1946, before being taken over by the National Coal Board.
