Balgreen Halt (1934-1967)

Opened on the Corstorphine Branch (North British Railway).

Description

This was a two platform halt on the Corstorphine Branch (North British Railway) immediately west of Haymarket West Junction where the branch met the Edinburgh and Glasgow Railway. The station was on an embankment. It had timber platforms and a metal footbridge.

The station was built on the site of the Edinburgh Exhibition station of 1908. This was a four platform station - two on branch and two on Forth Bridge lines (the northern two lines of the quadruple track of the main line).

The site is now Balgreen [Tram].
