Rothesay Bay: 'TS Duchess of Montrose' off Rothesay in the summer of 1963. Taken from 'Jeanie Deans' as I recall. She and the 'Hamilton' were beautiful.
Ramsbottom: Busy scene at Ramsbottom during the 2022 Summer Diesel Gala at the ELR. Type 2s 26007 and 25279 await departure on the 15.30 Heywood to Rawtenstall. D8107 (foreground) and D8096 (behind) on the tail of the 16.00 Rawtenstall to Heywood, which was being hauled by DC Rail 60046 'William Wilberforce'.
Crail: View of Crail station, from an eastbound DMU, on Saturday 4th September 1965. This was the final weekend of regular passenger traffic on the line.
Byrehill Junction: Catching an ECS movement between Dubbs Junction and Byrehill Junction during daylight hours is normally quite difficult. However, thanks to extended daylight and the current ScotRail emergency timetable the last train from Largs on weekdays, the 2052hrs ECS to Ayr CSD is manageable. On 7th July 2022 it was formed of 380021, seen here approaching Byrehill Junction on a sunny what was a evening around 2109hrs.

Edinburgh Waverley: An immaculate 92032 'I Mech E Railway Division' and 66740 'Sarah' at Waverley on Tuesday 5th July 2022, laying over between sleeper loco duties.
Homerton: This is all that remains of the entrance to the original Homerton station, opened by the North London Railway in 1868 and closed with the eastern section of the NLR from Dalston Junction to Poplar in May 1944 after heavy war damage. Passenger services along this section of the line in Hackney in east London resumed in 1979 with new stations opening in 1980 at Hackney Central, more or less on the site of the NLR's Hackney station that had also closed in 1944 and Hackney Wick, just east of the site of Victoria Park station that had closed a year earlier in 1943. A new station at Homerton, with an entrance on the south side of the line (left of this view) and on the site of the 1868 station and now part of London Overground, opened in 1985 (see my photo image no. 71749). This view was taken on 28th January 2017.
Carlisle: Class 5 4-6-0 45321 runs briskly into Carlisle with the summer Saturday 1.20pm London to Glasgow express. Even as late as August 1967, this was surprisingly still scheduled for steam haulage between Crewe and Carlisle, although the motive power would normally have been a Kingmoor Britannia. The train had been reported as twenty minutes late out of Preston, but the Black Five had kept to schedule on the run north over Shap and was still only twenty minutes down.
Cark: 195116, on a Northern service from Barrow to Manchester Airport, pulls away from Cark on 6th July 2022. Situated on a sharp curve, the platform has been raised and then an outward extension added up to the point of the 'S' sign.
Crozon: One of the larger stations on the metre gauge branch from Chateaulin was Crozon-Morgat which was sited in the market town of Crozon but also served the nearby port of Morgat. Although the line closed in 1967, signage indicates that the building still retains a link with the national rail network, acting as a ticket agency for SNCF via the tourist information centre which shares the accommodation.
Stranraer Town: Stranraer Town station, closed to passengers on 7 March 1966, looking west towards Portpatrick in 1988. The sleeper train is stabled on the right on the servicing siding.
Denton School Crossing: A Morpeth to Carlisle service passing Denton School Automatic Half Barrier crossing in April 2022.
Didcot Parkway: GBRf 66761, the snappily named 'Wensleydale Railway Association 25 years 1990-2015', seen westbound through Didcot with a rake of vans from Tilbury Container Services to Trostre Works on 23rd March 2022.
