Ribbleton (Red Scar)

Lacking what might be thought of as a crucial piece of equipment for any shunter, the Courtaulds Peckett 0-4-0ST goes about its duties at the Ribbleton Red Scar plant in 1968. The loco would be used to bring loaded coal wagons down from the exchange sidings on the Longridge Branch and take the empties back. In 1968 the Peckett was replaced by a Rolls Royce Sentinel 4W diesel shunter that lasted until the plant closed.
