Laigh Hill Tunnel (1848-1985)

Opened on the Scottish Central Railway.

Description

This tunnel was north of Allanwater Viaduct, itself to the north of Dunblane station, and south of Barbush Viaduct.

The tunnel was opened out in the 1980s to allow carriage of 8ft 6in containers.

A footbridge now crosses the line here.
