Bowes Park: View looking north from replacement bus service, for the temporarily closed Piccadilly Line between Wood Green and Cockfosters, on Bounds Green Road crossing the bridge over the Hertford North Loop, looking down on Bowes Park station at 13.34 on Saturday, 31st August 2024. The line here opened as the Enfield branch from Wood Green (now Alexandra Palace) in 1871 with Bowes Park opening in 1880 and the line extended back to the main line at Stevenage between 1910 and 1918. (After sixteen days of replacement buses, trains to Cockfosters restarted on Monday, 2nd September.)

Buxton: Having arrived from Arpley via Peak Forest, DB Class 66 66074 has run round its train of empties ready to complete the final leg of its journey on 29th July 2024. The ground signals visible in front of the locomotive follow the protocol of top to bottom directing the train left to right at the points in the foreground. The middle ground signal is in the off position showing that the train is signalled to the Hindlow branch.

Greenfoot Level Crossing: An undated shot from 1995 of 150256 approaching Greenfoot with a working to Cumbernauld. The signal box closed on 3rd May 1999.
