Edinburgh Waverley: Resignalling work and track rationalisation at platform 21 at Waverley in 1976. To the left are the former Fruit Market and 'Scotsman' sidings.
Huntingdon: The up platform at Huntingdon, seen from a train for Peterborough, seems to be relaxing in the unaccustomed luxury of not being overshadowed by the A14. (See image [[26994]]) Because of the difficulty of rebuilding the former bridge over the ECML, a long bypass has been built, and the bridge over the station removed.
Liverpool Street: One of Stratford sheds 'Silverback' Brush Type 4 diesels awaiting departure time at Liverpool Street in the summer of 1981 with an early afternoon express service to Norwich.
Penge West: 455842, with a Southern service to London Bridge, arriving at Penge West in south London on 19th October 2013. This station has also been served by London Overground services since 23rd May 2010 when it was transferred to TfL control.
Gleneagles: The architecture and railway paraphernalia at Gleneagles, photographed on this beautiful June day in 1964, make for a fine period piece. The Park Royal railbus is taking a break between trips along the Crieff branch. See image [[70002]] for a present day view of this spot.
Carlisle: A nice little reminder at Carlisle for LNER Azuma drivers to save any embarrassing moments on WCML diverts. Avanti Pendolino 390103 is approaching on 5th October 2021.
Leith Walk Tram Depot: Leith Walk Tram Depot on 18 June 2015. The 1938 office block survives in community use but the sheds behind have been demolished. Tram rails returned to the street in 2021.
Lancaster: Sunday strollers on the canal towpath as Rail Operations Group 37800 passes Lancaster, taking Orion EPU 326001 from Mossend to Northampton on 9th January 2022. These repurposed Class 319 units saw regular use between Shieldmuir and Willesden in December 2021 and this has continued in the new year but all workings appear to have been diesel hauled. (This shot was very nearly thwarted by a Pendolino crossing the bridge a couple of moments later)
Eastfield MPD: Standard 2-6-4 tank number 80057 moves through Eastfield MPD on 5 October 1963, perhaps heading for the turntable as it is equipped with the special banking apparatus for the Cowlairs incline, and is pointing in the wrong direction.
