Willesden Junction High Level: View from 378205, with an Overground service to Clapham Junction, just departed from Willesden Junction and diverging onto the West London Line, with the tracks to Richmond on the right, on New Year's Day 2022. There were no regular local passenger services on the West London Line between 1940 and 1994 and only then just a shuttle service of diesel units between Willesden Junction and Clapham Junction. The line was later electrified with three new stations and became part of the London Overground in 2007. National Rail Southern services also use the line.
Cambridge: At the North end of the main platform at Cambridge station, there is a small Portakabin offering passenger information. This artificial owl is attached to the roof (apparently by a cable tie or two). I can't help thinking that this ought to be a rich source of puns, but nothing springs to mind. Good job really, they'd only make you owl.
Bowes: The wet and windswept remains of Bowes station on the Stainmore route looking north across the trackbed in March 2010, more than 48 years after closure. Nearest the camera on the left is the remains of a former goods shed, while the crumbling buildings in the background are on the old Barnard Castle bound platform. The station site now occupies farmland, with an access road crossing the site and a large farm building built over the trackbed just off picture to the right.
Kinleith Mill: The closed Kinleith Paper Mill, seen on 10th April 1993, with surviving track still visible in the yard.
Tollerton: A view looking south over the up side engineers yard at Tollerton Junction on 30 May 2019.
Norbreck [Tram]: Blackpool Balloon 715 returns from Fleetwood during a Heritage Tour from Pleasure Beach, seen passing the stop at Norbreck on 19th June 2021.
Greenock Ladyburn Shed: Fairburn 2-6-4 tank No 42266 looks very smart as it departs from Greenock Ladyburn shed on 29 February 1964 in order to head the 4.10pm train from Gourock to Glasgow. The friendly driver gave me the thumbs up as they headed off! 42266 was one of the Fairburns exchanged with Fowler 2-6-4 tanks in early 1954.
Ballinluig: Two young assistants (or perhaps only one, by the look of it) helping to load a very worthwhile quantity of parcels aboard the Aberfeldy branch train at Ballinluig in April 1965.
St Philips Marsh Depot: A lovely nostalgic image from the HSTs 40th birthday party. See image [[54970]] for a full list of the liveries seen here. This now seems to be a lot more than 5.5 years ago. I doubt I will ever see a lineup like this again; though I had an accidental last sighting of an XC HST at Tamworth while heavily delayed there returning from Bath to Nuneaton.
