Leith Walk Tram Depot (1905-1956)

Description

This Leith Corporation Tramways electric tram car depot was on the east side of Leith Walk, directly opposite Leith Walk West Goods on the west side of the walk. The depot was served from two connections from triangular junctions on Leith walk, one on either side of the administration building on the main road. Within the depot there were eight lines and a repair shop, of two lines, on the south side of the depot. It was bounded to the north by Leith Walk Foundry.

From 1920 the depot was owned by Edinburgh Corporation Tramways. The network closed in 1956.

The administration building remains today, the shed having been demolished in recent years.
