Green Lane
Green Lane, Merseyrail Wirral Line, looking towards Birkenhead Central and Liverpool at 10.00 on Wednesday, 30th April 2025. Note the covered staircase to the Liverpool platform on the left and an open one on the southbound platform because it is underneath the vaulted roof. This station was opened by the Mersey Railway on 1st February 1886, the temporary terminus of the Mersey tunnel line from James Street, before extension south to Rock Ferry on an unspecified date in 1891.
