Green Lane

Subterranean Green Lane, partially open to the elements, looking towards Rock Ferry. The brick vaulting between the girders appears to have once carried sidings on the Birkenhead and Chester lines. There is a long shelter only on the Liverpool platform, reflecting its open nature, and the steps of the station footbridge from which this image was taken are also only covered on the Liverpool side. All in all a very quirky location. 508112 rolls in from Chester heading for the tunnel under the Mersey.
