Southport
No sooner had pioneer 507001 departed from Southport at 14.34 with the delayed 14.27 2U36 Merseyrail working to Hunts Cross (See image 87774) than sister unit 507009 arrived to off-load and load passengers and be ready to form the 14.42 departure back to Hunts Cross on 14 July 2023. The numbers of the York Carriage Works built Class 507 & 508 EMUs in service are declining rapidly, as the new Stadler Class 777 EMU/BEMUs are brought into service. 508125, seen alongside, is one of those since sent for scrapping having reached Sims Metal at Newport on 9 October along with unit 508124.
