Southport
Looking out from the trainshed at Southport on 15th March 2023 there were three new 777 EMUs, not yet in service, stabled on the triangle of sidings. Beyond, alongside the line to Wigan, were four of the old Class 508 sets that appeared to be in storage. As the new trains are progressively introduced it seems that the 508s will go first and the slightly different 507s will last a little longer.
