Whittingham Hospital

Although the Whittingham Hospital Railway was only two miles long it had a substantial long cutting, embankments and a skew arch bridge crossing Brabiner Lane near the hospital boundary. The line closed in 1957 and the bridge was completely demolished in the 1970s but these concrete fence posts mark the spot where it crossed the road. Brabiner Lane is narrow and very busy at peak times. This view taken at dusk on 23rd April 2019.
