Whittingham Hospital

CMHW No.2, a Barclay 0-4-2ST, approaches the hospital station at Whittingham with a train from Grimsargh running along the ash embankment within the hospital grounds. The train consists of three converted LNWR brakevans that were the passenger stock in later years. The photograph dates from prior to 1952 when No 2 was withdrawn and later replaced by the Sentinel locomotive 'Gradwell'. See image 35479 for the same location in 2011.
