Stubbins

View south towards Ramsbottom at Stubbins one week before closure. The station buildings were located at the far end of the disused platform, near the village centre (SD 792181). The platform outside the station building was at the original very low level and fenced off from the tracks. After the line was singled this shelter, accessed by subway, was a poor replacement. The Accrington line, closed in 1966, runs behind the platform fencing. See image 21774 for a modern day 'Then and Now' comparison.
