Shaw and Crompton

Shaw and Crompton in 1972, still lit by gas lamps and with original buildings and awnings intact. Never under threat of closure it was however at this time planned to become the terminus of a stub from Manchester and Oldham but the link to Rochdale was reprieved, albeit the line was singled in 1980. View towards Oldham and Manchester. See image 21125 for a 2008 comparison.
