Macduff Extension (Great North of Scotland Railway)

Introduction

This short extension brought the line from south of Banff Bridge into Macduff, with an intermediate Banff Bridge station. The original Macduff (Banff) terminus was closed on extension of the line.

This was a single platform station perched above the Banff Bridge, to the west. It was on the approach to the terminus at Macduff and served, distantly, Banff and the area served by the previous terminus, Macduff (Banff) which was to the south. The platform was on the west side of the line.

This was a two road locomotive shed to the south of the running lines west of Macduff station. Approach was by reversal from a turntable on the south side of the station and its goods yard.
