The owner of a popular takeaway at Dunkeld Railway Station has been unanimously granted permission to move his business to a site in town. The planning application attracted 18 letters of support and seven objections. Perth and Kinross Councils planning and placemaking committee considered the application submitted by Orkun Cevic who runs The Craft Diner.

Trains heading to Inverness from Glasgow and Edinburgh have been cancelled or delayed after three bridges were damaged near Perth. The damage was caused by a freight train coming into contact with the bridges over the railway between Perth and Dunkeld.

Train services north of Perth are returning to normal after being delayed due to heavy rain in the area.

Services between Dunkeld and Birnam, and Blair Atholl, as well as Aberdeen and Inverness, were running at reduced speeds on Monday morning.

Train commuters in the Highlands are experiences another day of train cancellations. Adverse weather conditions has forced the partial closure of railway lines at Perth and Pitlochry. Services from Inverness to Edinburgh and Glasgow will terminate at Pitlochry and will not call at Dunkeld and Birnam.
