Opened on the London Extension (Great Central Railway).

Description

This is an island platform station on the Great Central Railway (Preserved). Heritage trains run south to Leicester North.

The station originally opened on the London Extension (Great Central Railway). There was a goods yard on the west side. When opened the station was on the western edge of the town. The station was south of the older Midland Railway Loughborough station.

After closure in 1969 it reopened as a preserved station in 1974.
