Description

This tube works was to the south side of the line west of the former Calder station and east of the former Whifflet Upper station. Railway access was from the west into an exchange yard on the north side of the works. Reversal at a headshunt at the east end of the yard ran past a weighbridge into the works with sidings serving either end of the site.

The works was opened by Stewarts and Lloyds. Built on the northern part of the former Calder Iron Works.

Latterly, this tube works operated in conjunction with the Clydesdale Steel Works and Imperial Tube Works.
