Act for line from north of Sherburn to Shincliffe and on to Bishop Auckland. There was to be a triangular junction for access to the Durham and Sunderland Railway's Durham Elvet station. Line not built.
30/06/1848York, Newcastle and Berwick Railway
Proposed Team Valley Railway receives Act for line from Gateshead to Newton Hall to Leamside. Line was to have a branch from Newton Hall to Durham, Relly Mill and Bishop Auckland.
