Swithland Sidings: One of the modern day GCR's greatest strengths is its stock of excellently restored freight wagons. This line up of Esso tank wagons (of several different designs) was spotted in the sidings at Swithland during the 2025 Spring Diesel Gala.

Liskeard: 50008 has the 1V70 Derby to Penzance service at Liskeard on 22nd May 1976. No doubt Tony had come down to see me and had probably enjoyed a drink in the Stag Public House opposite the station. This was once a welcome place to wait for your train on a winter's night , now sadly shut for many a year.

Perth: 60034 'Lord Faringdon', newly withdrawn and without tender, and 44878 at Perth shed on 7th September 1966. NBL 0-4-0DH shunter D2752 is also on the depot.

Glenfarg South Tunnel: This location is about mid-way between the two Glen Farg tunnels. To the right the ground drop down abruptly to the River Farg and on the left rises up to Pottiehill Wood.

New Brighton: 777043 just arrived at the Merseyrail Wirral Line terminus at New Brighton at 18.44 on Monday, 28th April 2025 before returning to Liverpool Central at 18.52. This station opened in 1888 with the line electrified by the LMSR in 1938 when the platform buildings were rebuilt but the main entrance building remains unscathed. The station once had a goods yard which closed in 1965.
