Maryhill: Looking west at Maryhill circa 1973. On this day Queen Street Low Level was out of use and trains were running from High Level using DMUs. The former station looks quite sad but the signal box is operating although partially boarded up. The station itself closed on 2nd October 1951, was reopened on 19th December 1960 but finally closed again on 2nd October 1961. Today a new station which opened in 1993 occupies more or less the same site and is served by a Glasgow - Anniesland service.

Quainton Road: Until recently, London's waste trains passed through Quainton for Calvert, but with construction of HS2 and the East-West Railway they stopped. The Buckinghamshire Railway Centre benefited as the line has now ceased to operate. They now have an agreement with Network Rail allowing BRC traffic to use the line and are installing points to allow crossing from one yard to the other. Previously they were two separated operational sites. This bridge is not in a safe condition, the portals bricked up and decorated. A replacement will be built but sadly no portal to allow BRC traffic to go north.

Dalreoch: Black 5 45407, masquerading as 45157 'The Glasgow Highlander', and K1 62005 work through Dalreoch as they head back to Carnforth at the end of West Coast Railways' Fort William-Mallaig 2006 summer season.

Quorn and Woodhouse: This bogie tanker is classified as a TEA wagon, with a tare weight of 26.6 tons. Now we all know that the railway runs on tea; by my calculations, this much hot brown liquid should keep a 12 mile steam railway like the GCR running for 3 weeks, 2 days, and 12.5 hours. Approximately.
