Eastfield MPD: Eastfield depot open day 17th May 1986. A dreich day and not ideal for photography. One of the depot's snow ploughs with West Highland logo sits as an exhibit.

Salford Crescent: Although both faces of the island platform at Salford Crescent are signalled for bi-directional running, this one is normally used for services heading towards Bolton or Wigan. CAF 331108 calls with a Manchester Airport to Blackpool North service on 27th March 2024.

Hackney Downs: Hackney Downs, London Overground platforms to and from Enfield Town and Cheshunt looking north, at 15.50 on Saturday, 24th February 2024. Originally opened by the GER in 1872, platform 4 on the left retains its original Victorian serrated wooden canopies but those on the other three platforms have sadly been replaced. The platforms for London Overground trains to and from Chingford and Greater Anglia trains to and from Hertford East and Cambridge are out of view on the right.

Starr Gate [Tram]: Flexity 015 at the southern terminus of the Blackpool Tramway, outside the Starr Gate depot, on 4th September 2024. This is a T1 service for Fleetwood, and from this week all day time services after the morning peak run the full length of the line including a call at Blackpool North station.

Carstairs: The End. 325003 and 325005 operate 1M27 from Shieldmuir to Willesden passing Carstairs on 28 August 2024. Less than a month before the end of mail by rail which came without fanfare on Friday 20th September.

Slateford: GBRf 66788 'Locomotion 15' crosses over to take the Craiglockhart Junction chord with 4E04 from Mossend to Doncaster, a long and full train on 12 September 2024.

Newtyle [1st]: The first station to serve Newtyle as seen in the early part of1974. This station closed for passenger traffic on 31st August 1868 when a new deviation of the railway was brought into use although goods traffic continued to be handled until 7th September 1964.

Tullibardine: A small body of water can be found at Howiesfauld, north of Tullibardine, with the railway embankment forming a dam. This pond didn't exist when the railway was open.
