Musselburgh: The goods shed at Musselburgh in 1970. Services at the passenger station to the right were withdrawn on 7th Septemder 1964. Goods traffic was still handled until 7th December 1970 although Boglehole Sidings (behind the photographer and on the other side of the level crossing) continued in use (for coal traffic as far as I know) until 6th September 1971.
Druimuachdar Summit: A4 60009 ‘Union of South Africa’ and K4 61994 ‘The Great Marquess’ approach Druimauchdar from the north with the ‘Great Britain’ railtour of 2007. The Boar of Badenoch is prominent in the background.
Menheniot: This footbridge at Menheniot is clearly politically flexible. It leans to the left if you are heading South, or to the right if you are heading North. Photo taken from a Castle class HST from Penzance to Plymouth - sadly, that is not a phrase we will be able to use much longer. Come on lads, what's the problem - they're only 48 (ish) years old.
Bradford Exchange: A Fairburn 2-6-4 tank, ready to leave Bradford Exchange for Leeds, with the Bradford portion of an ECML express for London. The engine number cannot be made out for certain, but looks to be 42073. If so, it is a locomotive that was subsequently preserved at the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway. The photograph dates from May 1967.
Eastfield MPD: Eastfield Depot open day on 17th May 1986. A dreich day and not ideal for photography. 37403 and another unidentified class 37 are on parade.
Finchley Road and Frognal: 378257, London Overground to Stratford, arriving at Finchley Road & Frognal at 10.14 on the beautiful sunny morning of Tuesday, 17th September, 2024.
Tullibardine: This is the former trackbed of the Crieff branch north west of Howiesfauld.
Kelvinbridge [Subway]: Stadler unit 310 leaves Kelvinbridge with an Inner Circle service on 17 September 2024.
