Ballingry Siding: This is the other (less attractive) side of the bridge shown in Bill Roberton's image [[22125]]. This view looks in the direction of the Mary Pit. Since Bill's photograph was taken the underpass has been blocked off at both ends. Ballingry Siding, also known as Lochore Siding, was behind the camera.
Bruce Grove: At last, the splendidly-restored waiting room at Bruce Grove, dating from 1872, is now open, seen here on the afternoon of Saturday, 24th February 2024. However, nobody seemed to want to use it, it was empty when I arrived while a crowd of passengers preferred to wait outside in the pouring rain. Thought should now be given to restoring the roofs to the stairwells to the platforms that were removed by BR Eastern Region in the early 1980s. On this afternoon, there were deep puddles on them and it is quite a climb up steep flights of steps too. No lifts.
Romford: 720587, slowing to call at Romford with a Greater Anglia service from London Liverpool Street to Colchester Town, on 4th April 2023.
Knottingley: GBRf 66733 is seen at Knottingley on coal empties in January 2013.
Golf Street: Colas 70811 nears Golf Street with an Oxwellmains to Aberdeen Craiginches cement train on 29 February 2024.
Cobbinshaw [2nd]: The site of Cobbinshaw station is on the other side of the bridge behind the train as 26024 and 26010 approach Woolfords village on 8 February 1981 at the head of 1Z38, the 10.10 Edinburgh - Treherbert Rugex which they worked as far as Farrington Junction running via the S&C.
