Blackpool North: Blackpool North, on the far right of the picture, on 3rd September 2012. At this time the station had eight platforms, reduced to six with the 2018 electrification. From there, moving across the picture, we can see the sidings of the servicing depot, empty as usual during the day time. These sidings were also upgraded and wired in 2018. The line continues across the picture through Layton towards Poulton-le-Fylde.
Dumfries: Dumfries station on 1st March 2024, minus the Footbridge and with ongoing works for the new Accessible over bridge.

Port of Ushuaia: Ushuaia claims to be the most southerly city (I say town) in the world. That being the case these two old Routemasters, outside the port gates, must be at the most southerly bus stop in the world and a very long way from London. Both had their engines running while awaiting 'City Tour' passengers, and the only concession to the cold climes appeared to be the folding doors on the rear platforms.
Kelty North Junction: This wooded isle was once the embankment of the Lochore Branch of the North British Railway. The view looks north east. The route of the branch followed along this island from left to right, then the left tip of the next island, followed by a curve to run along the left side of the next island before reaching the far side of the loch, where the Mary Pit was located. The loch was drained long before the railway was built and the North British used large amounts of material to build the embankment across the Lochore Meadows which regularly sank requiring yet more material. Mining subsidence caused the loch to return, although not exactly where it had been before.
Lowestoft: Now that 755407, that brought me here from Ipswich, has reversed and departed for Norwich, 755417 which arrived here from Norwich some time earlier, now waits to depart from Lowestoft with the 12.06 Greater Anglia East Suffolk Line service to Ipswich, on 3rd May 2023.
