Birkdale: I was out after this unit to get some pictures before it is withdrawn - 507001 is seen on the rear of a Southport to Hunts Cross service departing from Birkdale. A good place to get a coffee and bacon roll with some nice cafes near the station.

Hindley: Deep Pit footbridge at Hindley, viewed from the station platform on 21st February 2024. Flex unit 769448 passes under the listed structure, which once spanned nine tracks, as it approaches on a Southport to Manchester Oxford Road service. Preparations for the installation of OLE masts can be seen alongside the Down line. The fence on the left secures the electrification contractor's compound.

Kelty North Junction: View looking west to the site of Kelty station from Loch Ore. The line of trees running from bottom right to top left follows, more or less, the curve of the Lochore Branch of the North British. Much of the farmland to the left of the former line was used as a tip for the Aitken Pit.
