Beddington Lane [Tram]: Tram no. 9915 from Wimbledon to Elmers End heading away from the camera as it departs from Beddington Lane, at 12.01 on Tuesday, 17th October 2023. This section of Tramlink runs along the course of the Surrey Iron Railway of 1803.
Culter [2nd]: Culter station, seen from a departing DMU bound for Ballater. The date is believed to have been late 1965 or early 1966, probably just a few weeks before closure of the Deeside line.
Broomhill Crossing: On the right is the former gatekeeper's cottage at Broomhill Crossing. The line ran round the right of the buildings on the left and to the left of the railway cottage.
Port Sunlight: 507010 leaves Port Sunlight heading towards Liverpool on 4th October 2023. The old 507s and 508s seem to be working turn and turn about with the new 777s on the Wirral lines but their numbers will decline as new units are approved for service. I noticed that there seemed to be a lot of dwell time with the 777s in each station as they were constantly ahead of the timetable. I expect there will be some sort of recast when the full fleet is in operation
Ascott-under-Wychwood: A view of the signalbox and crossing. See [[69941]] for a view of the box in 2019.
Bridge-end [Letham Moss]: Letham Moss peat works railway, near Airth, looking east in the 1990s.
Glenrothes with Thornton: 20118 and 20148 wait with the Methil to Westfield empties as 150252 is passing in September 1990. This was the site of the new Glenrothes with Thornton station before it was built. The Thornton north curve (left) and south curve (right) meet behind the camera. The main A92 bridge is beyond.
Mitcham [Tram]: Tram no. 2554, Wimbledon to Beckenham Junction, departing from Mitcham at 11.53 on Tuesday, 17th October 2023. The original heavy rail station, closed in 1997 to allow the line to be converted into a tramway and which opened in 2000, was behind the camera, a short distance to the west and now demolished.
Carrbridge: February 2023 at Kinveachy (Between Carrbridge and Aviemore) 66425 heads 4D47, the 12.59 Inverness - Mossend Intermodal.
Broomhill Crossing: View looking west to Crook of Devon from near Broomhill Crossing, a level crossing south west of Tullibole Castle, showing the stump of a signal. This was located on the north side of the line about 1200 ft west of the LC.
Aberdeen: A Cravens diesel unit awaiting departure from Aberdeen bound for Ballater. The date is not known for certain, but probably late 1965 or early 1966, just a few weeks before closure of the Deeside line.
