New Pudsey: View from 195131 from Chester to Leeds, that reversed at Bradford Interchange where I joined the train, calling at New Pudsey, on the morning of Wednesday, 20th September 2023.

Airth Colliery: Site of Airth Colliery seen in 1993. Although much development work took place for this NCB mine sinking was abandoned.

Seafield Junction [NB]: Seafield Junction signal box in April 1968. The box closed on 14th May that year when yard working was introduced although the footbridge visible in the shot was still in situ when I last visited some years ago.

Bullers O' Buchan Halt: Although the embankment and single bridge abutment alongside the A975 are very visible railway remnants at Bullers O' Buchan, little else remains in 2023 and nothing at all of the halt that was here until 1932. I did find this old cast iron fence post though, at the foot of the embankment alongside the distinctive curved abutment wall.

Eastleigh: GB Railfreight 73965 'Des O'Brien' leads a southbound Network Rail Measurement Train through Eastleigh (with 73964 trailing) on 25th October 2023. The 73s certainly have a cluttered look on their front ends.

Barnoldswick Junction: This is Barnoldswick Junction in October 2023. Passenger trains ceased on the branch in 1965, and goods the following year, but trains continued to pass on the Colne to Skipton line until February 1970. Partially concealed in the undergrowth, in the 'V' of the branch and the Colne line, was the foundation of the small Midland signal box that controlled the junction and issued the single line tokens for branch trains.

Callander and Oban Junction: View east at Callander and Oban Junction where the Callander and Oban Railway (on the left) met the Dunblane, Doune and Callander Railway (right). The original signal box was on the left and its replacement, when the approach to Callander Dreadnought was doubled, was between the two lines.

Airth Colliery: A serious start was made by the NCB on Airth Colliery before work was abandoned in 1959. The site was immediately south of the Alloa Bridge line, where it turned east after leaving the main line at Alloa Junction. This view shows some of the remains in 1993.

Lancaster: 158759, on a Sunday service for Leeds via Bentham, comes off the Carlisle Bridge and passes over the old Midland route to Morecambe, now a popular greenway. The Midland route was also electrified between Lancaster and Heysham and used for 25kv OHLE testing before its closure in 1966.

Bradford Exchange: The Bradford portion of the 10.20 from Kings Cross on arrival at Exchange station behind 42116 in April 1967. Exchange closed in 1973 and was replaced by Bradford Interchange, fifty yards to the south of Exchange and partly on the site of Bridge St Goods Depot.
