Culloden Moor: This bridge is located on the Highland Main Line between the former Culloden Moor station and Inverness. It is a mile and a half west of the station and east of Cradlehall.
Southport: Mersey Rail's class 507 & 508 EMUs, built by British Rail Engineering ltd at their York Carriage Works, are in the twilight period of their 40+ years operational existence, being replaced by the new Stadler built class 777 EMU/BEMUs. In this 14 July 2023 view L-R can be seen units 508127 & 508124 stabled by the south side of Southport Station, whilst 508125 is stabled between workings. At the beginning of August 508127, together with 507005, started their final journey to Sims Metals at Newport for scrapping, but put up a fight by refusing to re-couple to the hauling loco after run round at Shrewsbury station. They were left by the prison platform for a few weeks, not reaching Sims' site until 29 August.
Ashton Swing Bridge (Preston): A glimpse into the cab of Sentinel 'Enterprise' as it rumbles onto the Ashton Swing Bridge taking loaded bitumen tanks towards the RSR depot and unloading point on 13th September 2023.

Becconsall: This memorial bench to our late contributor, John McIntyre, has been placed by his family on the Becconsall platform at his beloved West Lancashire Light Railway.
Barnsley Interchange: Barnsley Interchange, northbound platform, seen from 158901 calling with the ex-11.09 service from Leeds to Nottingham, on 21st September 2023. This was first opened as Barnsley on 1st January 1850 and was briefly known as Barnsley Low Town between 2nd June 1924 and 1st August 1924 when it became Barnsley Exchange. On 13th June 1960, it became simply Barnsley again but on rebuilding by the SYPTE in 2007, to provide better access to the adjacent bus station, it was renamed yet again to Barnsley Interchange. The rebuilt station received a Civic Buildings Award.
Camps Junction [CR]: LNER 800107 passes the site of Camps Junction with the 07.30 from Kings Cross to Aberdeen, diverted because of engineering work on the ECML south of Berwick.
Newmachar: View from the 3.15pm Fraserburgh-Aberdeen service arriving at Newmachar on Saturday 2nd October 1965, the last day of passenger services on the line. An NBL Type 2 waits to cross with a northbound train.
Eaton Lane Level Crossing: 91007 south of Retford working 1403 Kings Cross to Leeds service passing Eaton Lane.
Dalwhinnie: Two Scotrail HST 125s passing in the loop at Dalwhinne station, on the Highland mainline, on 29 September 2023. A nice surprise.
Aviemore: 61994 and 60009 approach Aviemore in 2007 with 1Z93, the Glasgow to Inverness leg of 'The Great Britain' railtour. The train had set out from Paddington on April 6th for its journey around the country, finally arriving back in London at Kings Cross on April 14th.
