Drumquharn Tile Works: The Forth and Clyde Junction Railway stretches away into the distance in this view, which looks north east from near Gartness Junction. The site of the Drumquharn Tile Works was near the house with the red roof to the right of the former railway. The Endrick Water is on the right, crossed by the Killearn Bridge carrying the A81 north.

Glenbeigh: View east towards Glenbeigh in May 2023, with the eastern abutment of a bridge over a local road standing tall here. The western abutment behind the camera has been removed and a ramp formed at the start of the South Kerry Greenway which will follow the route of the trackbed for much of its way to Cahirciveen. Beyond the abutment is a short embankment before a further abutment and removed bridge over the River Behy with Glenbeigh village and station beyond.

Portsoy [2nd]: Platform side view of the former Portsoy station, closed in 1968 and seen here on 15th June 2019. This opened in 1884 replacing that at the end of the harbour branch that had opened in 1859. The entire Moray coast line was 'Beechinged' on 6th May 1968, divorcing the popular seaside towns of Portsoy and Cullen and the large town of Buckie from the rail network, a serious loss with, ever since, buses to and from Elgin taking a lot longer than the trains. The loop surely offered more traffic potential than the remaining line from Elgin towards Aberdeen where, between Elgin and Huntley, only Keith station remains open.

Horrocksford Junction: The 'leaf season' is upon us again and the RHTT trains are out and about. 68022, released from TPE duties, was on the rear of a train led by 68033 that passed Horrocksford Junction in fading light on 9th October 2023. The 20-hour diagram involved return trips from Carlisle to Whitehaven, Blackburn via the S&C, Preston via Shap (and the Furness line to Barrow and back on the return trip.

Gartness Junction: In this view the Forth and Clyde Junction Railway runs from bottom, left of centre, to centre right. The Strathendrick and Aberfoyle Railway ran from Gartness Junction in the lower centre over the Endrick Water, followed by a ploughed out section, then through the site of the right hand house of the row of white houses and on to Killearn and Dumgoyach in the far distance. Dumgoyne is top left.
