Carstairs: Carstairs station looking south from the road overbridge in 1972. The former locomotive shed is on the left, by then used for stock storage by the looks of it, with Carstairs No. 3 signal box visible at the platform end. The station footbridge used to extend over the up tracks to allow access to the shed, which I found to be a very useful asset in steam days.
Dalgety Bay: 66746 leads the 'Royal Scotsman' through Dalgety Bay, on its way from Edinburgh to Keith pn 11 September 2023.
Leeds: A crew exchange takes place at Leeds (New) platform 12 during a short layover of the 14 July HST worked 06.06 ex Edinburgh to Plymouth Cross Country Trains service, with power cars 43239 leading and 43378 trailing. St Germans: With the temperature around 30C, 1924 and 47712 climb St Germans bank with the Statesman, 1Z28 0500 Shrewsbury - Penzance on 9th September 2023.
Gartness Junction: The approach of the Strathendrick and Aberfoyle has been ploughed out for a short distance south east of Gartness Viaduct. This was a West Highland style viaduct which crossed the Endrick Water. The line followed the left side of the large group of trees before turning to the right to join the Forth and Clyde Junction Railway which runs from left to right in this view. The view looks north west with the Conic Hill in the distant left.

Keith Junction [Station]: A Swindon DMU calling at Keith Junction with an Aberdeen-Inverness service in August 1965. In the far background, just above the head of one of the gentlemen walking along the platform, the distinctive cab window outline of an NBL Type 2 can be made out.
Curra Level Crossing: View of the former trackbed of the Valencia Harbour branch just west of Curra Level Crossing looking in the direction of Mountain Stage. It remains unclear if this section will be converted to part of the South Kerry Greenway as there is no sign of any construction yet in contrast to the section between Glenbeigh and Curra Level Crossing. This line opened in 1893 and closed on 1 Feb 1960.
North Queensferry: A single passenger boards a mid morning Cowdenbeath - Edinburgh train at North Queensferry in the summer of 2008.
Patricroft: It is claimed locally that the Queen's Arms at Patricroft is the world's first trackside pub, built in 1828 to serve the Liverpool and Manchester Railway. (This is disputed as a pub in Darlington was built the year before). What is now the pub car park was the original L&M trackbed, later the slow lines after quadrupling. Those lines are now lifted and the surviving two tracks are a little further away from the pub, behind a palisade fence. This view looks towards Patricroft station and Manchester.
