Edinburgh Waverley: Looking across the roof of Waverley station on the morning of 13 June 2012. The photograph shows the position 14 months into the £110m project to replace all 24,000 glass roof panels. View is west with the station exit ramp in the centre of the picture, showing its junction with Waverley Bridge.
Bottesford West Junction: Bottesford West Junction in September 1993. A 3-car DMU heads west towards Nottingham. Until closure to goods traffic in 1987 this was the junction for a GNR line to Newark which turned off to the left behind the signal box. The box was closed in November 2015.
Kirkland Yard: North British Locomotive Co. 0-6-0DH (Works No. 27591 of 1957), formerly at NCB Michael, Wellesley and Bowhill Collieries, Fife. Awaiting restoration at the Fife Heritage Railway.
Hook: A BRCW Type 3, later Class 33, approaching Hook station in 1967.
Elgin East: Period piece at Elgin East with a Sulzer Type 2 (subsequently Class 24) in the foreground. The photograph is thought to date from 1967. On the right, a nice selection of rolling stock and on the left, a Cravens DMU with just a hint of an NBL Type 2.
Duntreath Halt: View west showing the course of the Blane Valley Railway passing Dumgoyach, to the left, beyond which the trackbed is used by the West Highland Railway past Killearn as far as Gartness, near Drymen.
Daisyfield Junction: 70806 heads east at Daisyfield Junction with empty bitumen tanks from Preston Dock to Haverton Hill on 13th September 2023. The train is passing Blackburn TA Centre, built on the site of a railway goods yard and standing in the 'V' of this line and that to Clitheroe. The bitumen tanks usually run from Lindsey Refinery but a shortage of product this year has led to short formations and some trains being switched to run from Haverton Hill.
Kings Cross: East side wall of Kings Cross station, designed by Lewis Cubitt for the Great Northern Railway and opened in 1852, seen here from the front upstairs windows of a HV type bus on route 91 to Crouch End, heading north up York Way before turning east into Wharfedale Road (both part of the King's Cross one-way system) and then continuing north up Caledonian Road, on the afternoon of Wednesday, 30th August 2023. The bus in this view is a so-called 'New Routemaster', nothing like the fine old traditional Routemasters of old, setting out from the terminus of route 259 to Edmonton Green in north London.
Seaforth Container Terminal: Seaforth Container Terminal, in the Liverpool Docks complex, in 2018. The terminal is top right of the picture, with two ships berthed. Several trains service the container port each day, using the line that curves away near the Seatruck berth and into a tunnel. The Southport Liverpool line can be seen bottom right, following the line of trees.
Broadway: Resident G&WR EE Type 3 37215 at Broadway station on a damp 12th September 2023.
Arbroath Harbour Junction: A met cam 101 DMU departs Arbroath heading north.
