Arbroath: (From 2020) For ten years now Arbroath Station has been hosting the painting by Charles Anderson commemorating the signing of the Declaration, and in case any members of the Angus Railway Group have not yet seen them here are photos showing the two interpretive posters that ScotRail with the help of local historian Dr Richard Irvine have placed alongside to mark the 700th anniversary.
Grantown-on-Spey East: The appropriate play area and miniature railway at Grantown-on-Spey East.
Kirkbuddo: View south to Kirkbuddo from what was the summit of the line. The large turbine, near Greenhillock, can be seen for many miles.
Woodacre Crossing: 57009, one of four of this class acquired by West Coast Railways from DRS, has recently been repainted in two tone green livery. This makes an interesting change from the overall maroon usually applied to the WCR fleet. The former D1664/47079 was one of the Western Region's named Brush Type 4s, 'George Jackson Churchward'. It is seen passing Woodacre taking two MkIs, one heavily graffitied, from Carnforth to Tyseley on 27th September 2023. From Tyseley the loco was scheduled to run to the Midland Railway Centre at Butterley before returning to Carnforth that evening.
Dalmuir: Track renewal at the crossover east of Dalmuir station on the Clydebank route. This is used by trains approaching the terminating bay platform installed for the opening of the Argyle Line.
Barton-on-Humber: Other than the DMU Barton-on-Humber station in March 1969 still looked more or less as it had for decades previously. It still remains open today although much altered in appearance. Goods traffic continued until August 1970.
Cowes: Adams 1923 Isle of Wight class O2 0-4-4T 24 'Calbourne' is seen at Cowes on 7 December 1962. The locos built for service on the island were fitted with Westinghouse brake equipment, and were later given larger coal bunkers.
Inverurie: A Swindon DMU on an Inverness-Aberdeen service calling at Inverurie. The photograph is thought to date from 1968.
Hardengreen Viaduct: An overcast Autumn morning over much of Midlothian in October 2015, due not least to light rain combined with the remnants of a dawn mist. Meantime the first northbound Sunday service of the day on the Borders Railway comes off Hardengreen Viaduct. The ScotRail 0848 Tweedbank - Edinburgh is currently approaching its next scheduled stop at Eskbank.
Cooden Beach: Hastings to Brighton train arriving at Cooden Beach in June 1982.
Oxford: Freightliner 66525 southbound through Oxford at 1255 hours on 24th August 2023. Rep. No. 6C50. Oxford Banbury Road sidings to Whatley Quarries. Empties I suppose.
