Killorglin: A further memorial to the railway at Killorglin with a statue of a waiting passenger and a porters barrow which may or may not be original. The station site lay behind and to the left of the memorial. The building containing the Aldi store extends roughly to where the tracks lay. No trace of the station aside from a memorial board and this statue now remains, closure having come on 1 Feb 1960.

Bristol Temple Meads: Somehow, the 13.00 Temple Meads to Manchester Piccadilly looks better without the leading car of 220011 in view. Its only a Voyager.

Rosehall Junction: A Class 37 hauled freight passes Rosehall Junction signal box heading for Whifflet North and probably Mossend Yard. Langloan Junction SB can be seen in the background and the single track line was the remains to the Caledonian Railway line which once served Airdrie and beyond. The shot is undated but was taken in the early 1970s.

Longannet Power Station: View over the site of Longannet Power Station, now demolished. The power station was to the left by the pier and the rail served coal yard to the right. The triangle of departure lines is in this view, largely hidden by trees (some overgrown track can be seen to the right of the pylon in the middle of the view). Grangemouth is in the background.

Greenock Central: Cravens DMU on a Gourock-Glasgow service arriving at Greenock Central. The exact date was not recorded but was probably just before electric services started in 1967.

Darlington North Road: Platform view at the S&Ds 1856 North Road station, Darlington, looking north west towards Shildon in November 2007. The covered section of the platform is no longer in use, with passenger access provided from an entrance on McNay Street behind the camera. The original station building on the left was undergoing conversion work at that time and would reopen 5 months later as the 'Head of Steam' museum.

Finnieston Tunnel: Network Rail will shortly undertake two weekends of around-the-clock working as part of a £2.5m investment to renew elements of the Finnieston tunnel in Glasgow. Over the two weekends in October, engineers will carry out masonry and steelwork repairs to the 137-year-old structure, as well as waterproofing the tunnel and clearing the existing drainage channels. The line between Patrick station and Springburn/Garrowhill stations will be closed over both weekends, from the end of service on Saturday 7 and Saturday 14 October until normal services resume on the mornings of Monday 9 and Monday 16 October. Services via Glasgow Central low-level are not affected.

Cameron Bridge: Network Rail has installed the footbridge at Cameron Bridge station as part of the new £116m Levenmouth Rail Link development. Eleven sections making up the main framework of the steel bridge and lift-towers were successfully craned into position on the new platforms. The largest section, the main bridge span, is 15 metres long and sits more than six metres above the track to enable clearance for electrification.

Kingsmuir: View north over the site of Kingsmuir station. The station was in a cutting with the single line on the left and platform on the right hand side. The cutting has been infilled and other than the bridge parapet and a sign for Station House (which is beyond the tree) not much else remains on the north side of the bridge. The goods yard was to the south of the bridge.

Doncaster: A view, believed to be in late 1959, of the Prototype Deltic stabled in the up side south end bay platform at Doncaster in very wet weather, during its trials on the East Coast mainline. The chimneys of Doncaster Power Station can be seen over to the left. I would only be 12 when this view was taken, so in my infancy of photography. This view is also the 2000th submitted view published by Railscot.

Holwell Tor Points: Pointsman in action. Some of the Haytor Quarries below Haytor Rocks were straight ahead and the Haytor Quarry on Holwell Tor quarry was to the right.

Aberglaslyn Long Tunnel: UK Railtours' charter train, from Blaenau Ffestiniog to Caernarfon, now on the Welsh Highland Railway behind WHR locomotive 143, entering the first of a series of short tunnels in the Pass of Aberglaslyn, on 6th April 2019. These were hewn out of solid rock in the mountainside. Back in August 1965, as a boy on a family holiday to north Wales, we walked through these tunnels which was great fun but not as exciting as travelling through them on a narrow gauge steam train, something I would never have thought possible all those decades ago.
