Elderslie No 2 Junction: A Metro Cammell DMU is on the 'fly under' at Elderslie No 2 and is passing under the main line from Glasgow to Ayr. The date is 6 July 1965 and it is on its way to Kilmacolm.
Kingsmuir: View north from Kingsmuir (the village, not the station) to Forfar. The station itself was about half a mile south. The nearer portion of line is a tree-lined cutting which is usually very wet. Some blurring has been applied for privacy.
Broadway: GWR Manor 4-6-0 7820 'Dinmore Manor' enroute to Broadway with a G&WR service on 27th August 2023.
Aberdour: 66743 nears Aberdour with the ‘Royal Scotsman’ from Edinburgh to Keith. Those trees will need attention soon. 21 August
Huncoat Colliery: Huncoat Colliery first produced coal in 1890 but in 1952 Huncoat Power Station opened nearby and the two were linked by a half mile mineral line to directly serve the station. The pit closed in 1968, economic reserves having been exhausted, so the line only operated for around sixteen years. The site has been cleared, although not redeveloped, but little remains of industrial days. This shallow depression is the route of the mineral line to the power station, which received supplies by rail from elsewhere until its 1984 closure.
Aynho: Aynho signal box and station as it was in summer 1967. The signalman is watching the photographer.
Shrubhill Tram Depot: Commemorative plaque produced by the National Transport Trust now attached to the wall of the former Shrubhill tram depot.
Shrubhill Tram Depot: Looking south east from Dryden Street footbridge on 29 August 2013. New buildings now occupy land around the preserved sections of the former Shrubhill tram depot and chimney of the associated power station. View is towards Leith Walk, with the remains of the former Powderhall branch just visible lower right. For the same view six years earlier see image [[60844]].
Forfar North Junction: View south of the line about a mile south of Forfar North Junction. A quarry encroaches on the tracked (note private quarry road passing under the A932). For the railway rambler a fairly long deviation is needed.
Wemyss Bay: The 'Talisman' at Wemyss Bay on a summer morning in July 1964.
Markle Level Crossing: On a beautiful Autumn day in 1977, 55015 'Tulyar' has just passed Markle Level Crossing, between Drem and East Linton, with 1E17, the 10.30 Aberdeen to Kings Cross.
